DUNFERMLINE vs. QUEEN OF THE SOUTH:

The Scottish Challenge Cup is usually a betting graveyard but this match looks a different story.

KAA Gent v Kalmar FF

It can be hard to compare two teams from different countries who never play each other. However, I believe that the current Swedish league leaders and Gent, who finished 6th in the Jupiler League last year, aren't a million miles apart. Considering Kalmar are 3/4 of the way through the season and Gents first league match is on Sunday, there's no doubt in my mind which side will be the sharper for this match.

German Bundesliga Antepost

I have not that much time, but will try to give you picture about Bundesliga this year. Maybe one or another signing/departure is missed (feel free to add it). I will try to keep it in groups, like title contenders, CL spots, UEFA places, middle table, fight for survival.

Bury v Burnley
By daikoku at 12/08/2008 - 3:05pm
Burnley had a horrible start to the season against Sheffield Wednesday, 1 nil down inside 31 seconds and 3-1 down inside 17 minutes. It would have been a shock result for Owen Coyle after a good pre-season and the addition of some quality signings over the summer. Coyle blamed the defeat on schoolboy defending, a surprise considering the only change in defence was new Peruvian international goalkeeper Diego Penny. Club record signing Martin Paterson did offer some consolation by grabbing a solitary goal, but Coyle didn't hold back in his post match comments:

Cowdenbeath v Albion Rovers
By daikoku at 12/08/2008 - 2:53pm
These two will face each other twice this week with both games being played at Central Park. Cowdenbeath won't be allowed to forget the 'Annan' game on the opening day for quite some time. Apart from that game they haven't done too badly with 3 wins from 4 competitive matches. Manager Danny Lennon fielded a strong side in the previous round against Montrose and I'd expect the same for this match.

Player of the Week

Tight one this. Not really. There can be no doubt who the player of the week is and that's the mighty, Wet Sail of League 2 with a ridiculously confident, 75 point treble of, Ayr Utd @ 2.40 Brechin City @ 2.20 and East Stirling @ 1.87 launching him to the top of the league on an incredible, underpant moistening, 865.52 points.

Scottish Challenge Cup Betting Tips - 13th August 2008
By kompressaur at 11/08/2008 - 1:29pm
Round 2 of the Challenge cup this tuesday and wednesday and i must admit i don't fancy much at all. Peterhead could push Partick all the way as did forfar in the CIS Cup but i wouldnt be betting on it. Alloa continue to underperform this season and they will be using injuries as an excuse no doubt. Clyde put in a much improved performance at Dundee on saturday but who kows what team will tuirn up on Tuesday. Cowdenbetah will have their followers but who can discount albion who like these cup games and seem to have a bit of fight about them?

13th Aug 2008 Carling Cup
By Cinny at 11/08/2008 - 1:03pm
Leeds @ 4/7 should overcome a woeful chester side who were hit for 6 on Saturday. Their playing a much better team wile Leeds will be in high spirits after a great away win at Scunthorpe.

Wolves @ 1/3 should have enough for a poor Accrington side who were beat by new boys Aldershot on Saturday. Wolves scrapped to a draw against Plymouth away from home and with 2 divisions separating these sides this should be a straight forward home win.

Carling Cup Betting 13th August

Dagenham to beat Reading; I have a feeling we could have a shock on our hands here. Reading were made to grind out a hard draw by Forest just yesterday, It won't have been an easy start to the season. Whilst Dagenham ran absolutely riot on Saturday against Chester, banging in 6 (in a 6-0 win) and missing a whole host of others. It's only the cup, so I reckon Reading might rest a few players with the home match against Plymouth on Saturday - whilst Dagenham are sure to field a full team. I'm going for a sneaky Dagenham win.
